My name is Eric Peterson. An artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Mankato State University. Originally a painter, I started getting into the digital arts and building websites.

Recently, I was commissioned to build a website for a high school class with a 10 year reunion coming up. As I built this site, started adding features, and building the graphics, I started to think about what a great idea it was. It was one place where everyone in your class could go to stay in touch with other classmates, find out about reunions, and just plain reminisce about the good old days.

My last reunion should have been my 30 year. I kept checking in on Classmates.com© to see if anything was happening. Nothing ever did happen. Our class of over 600 students didn't even have a way to stir up enough interest for a class reunion.

One of the problems with subscription based sites (like Classmates), is that you have to pay a monthly fee in order to contact anyone. Yes, they're huge, and a lot of people sign up for the free membership, but they can't interact. Each member would have to pay $2.49 a month to maintain contact with others.

There are also sites that let you build your own site on their domain, and save all of your data on their host. I'm sorry, but I've seen too many dot
coms disappear without notice. And that just leaves your class starting over from scratch.

MyClassSites.net is an affordable solution to class websites and keeping classmates connected. There is a one time cost to have the website built. Your class owns the site and its graphics. These sites are completely self contained. We'll train one of your fellow classmates to be the administrator (and it's simple, no need for additional software or even programming knowledge, and we can train over the phone, via email, or in person). No need to wait on an outside company to make changes to your site.

A scenario... If a class of 500 students each contributed $5 towards a website, it would pay for the cost of building the site plus domain name and renewal for the next 15 years (based on $10/yr domain renewal and $60/yr hosting). Another scenario... If a sophmore class sold 250 yearbooks each year for 3 years, with $5 per book going toward the website. That class could pay for a $1500 website and pay for hosting and domain renewal for the next 32 years. Not a bad investment. And if the schools get involved, the school could make money on the hosting and that same initial investment could carry the class website for the next 100 years. Please call or email to find out how to get a class website started.

Check out some of the MyClassSite websites currently in use. I think you'll be impressed at both the quality and the affordability.
